He is survived by: his wife Sally; and his children, Dave Bintz (Margaret), Kathy Bintz (David Garratt) and Ellen Bintz Vivoda (Mike). He is also survived by ten grandchildren; and eighteen great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Gary United Methodist Church in Verne's memory.
