With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Anthony R. Nero of Wheeling, Illinois, born in Chicago, Illinois, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on June 20, 2025 at the age of 72. He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Nero and Clara Nero; his son Tony Nero; his sister Charleen Nero; and his daughter Kathy Szkaradek.
He is survived by: his wife Ellen Nero of Wheeling, IL.; his children, Dianne Sedwick (Jason) of Roselle, IL, Ashley Reichert (Bryan) of Bloomington, IL and Andrew Nero (Helen) of Dallas, Texas.; his grandchildren, Brandon Sedwick (Gianna), Amber Sedwick, Anthony Reichert, Clara Reichert and Aiden Szkaradek; his great grandchildren, Giancarlo and Carlotta Sedwick; and his siblings, Carmen Nero (Helen), Carol Taft (Oscar), Cheryl Nero, Annette Virgilio (Nick) and Charlotte Piwonski (Casey).
Visitation was held on Tuesday, June 24th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Matz Mt. Prospect Funeral Chapel, Inc. (410 E Rand Rd, Mt Prospect, IL 60056). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, June 24th 2025 at 6:00 PM at the Matz Funeral Home. The military honors was held on Tuesday, June 24th 2025 from 6:30 PM to 6:40 PM at the Matz Mt. Prospect Funeral Chapel, Inc. (410 E Rand Rd, Mt Prospect, IL 60056).
