She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph H. Herkenrath and Catherine Herkenrath; her siblings, Joseph L Herkenrath, Elizabeth C. Herkenrath and Francis C. Zitzow; and her niece Ann E. Johnston.
She is survived by: her son Stephen V. Stepke (Suzanne); her granddaughter Suzanne T. Wetterling (Chris); her great grandchild Julianne M. Verstegen (Kevin); her grandchildren, Leah Wetterling (Justin), Alaina Verstegen, Eli Wetterling, Adalyn Verstegen and Bailey Stepke (Brian); and her godchildren, Ed Johnston, Becky Stepke and Timothy Powell.
She also believed strongly in providing for the less fortunate by donating to the Greater Chicago Food Depository and Catholic Charities.
