He was predeceased by: his parents, James Ernest and Nina Norine Northcutt Clanton; his granddaughter Taylor Clanton; and his siblings, Everett, Robert, Denny Clanton, Claudine Day, Wanda Hardwick and Alice Clanton.
He is survived by: his children, James "Ernie" Clanton (Keppen) of White Hall, Michael Clanton (Tressa) of Bloomsdale, MO and Nicole Martin (John) of Ozora, MO; his grandchildren, Sydnecy Losee (Ryan), Hunter (Codi Poe), Maice Clanton, Britani Doza (Aaron), Haley Roth (Isaac), Conner Clanton, McKenna, Elyse Baumann, Skyler (Drew Metzger), Clayton Forrester, Aly and Trent Martin; his great grandchildren, Lilian, Colby Doza, Zane Losee and Collyns Clanton; his siblings, Richard Clanton of Manchester and Jeannie Buckley of Alsey; and his sister-in-law Nancy Clanton. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 9th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Gentle Shepherd Fellowship (549 E Carlinville St, White Hall, IL 62092). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 9th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Friday, October 9th 2026 at the White Hall Cemetery.
