He was predeceased by: his parents, Ira Cox and Stella Newingham Cox; and his siblings, Keith Cox, Marvin Cox, Franklin Cox, Elma Adams, Wanda Gentry, Barabra McWhorter and Betty Murphy.
He is survived by: his wife Dorothy Norton; his children, Stacey Heckrodt (Joe) and Jerry Cox (Debbie) of White Hall; his grandchildren, Nathan Heckrodt (Crissi), Corey Heckrodt (Kelc), Kelsey Sielschott (Michael), Amy Cox, Daniel Farris, Amanda Brown (Mike) and Wesleigh Pinkerton; his great grandchildren, Autumn, Finlee, Ollie of Kenadee, C. J., Olivia, Landon, McKenzie, Cathryn, Luke, Gavin, Eric, Madison and Jasmine; his great great grandchild Liam; and his sisters, Ivy VanMeter of White Hall and Mary Antle of Jacksonville. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 17th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Airsman - Hires Funeral Home - White Hall (234 N Main St, White Hall, IL 62092). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 17th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Thursday, July 17th 2025 at the White Hall Cemetery.
