We announce the death of Barbara A. Ross of Williamsfield, Illinois, who passed away on September 3, 2026, at the age of 82. Barbara will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her parents, Bert J. Welch and Irene Welch (German); and her husband James "Chester" L. Ross. She is survived by: her children, James "Bob" R. Ross (Anita Dobbins) of Williamsfield, Susan LaFollette (Rick) of Williamsfield, Steve Ross (Jeanna) of Dunlap, Illinois and Daphne DeBrito (Bertrand); her grandchildren, Theo, Iana of Paris, France, Kristen LaFollette of Moline, Logan LaFollette (Emily) of Clarkston, Emma Ross of Denver and Isabelle Ross of Dunlap, Illinois; her great grandchild Violet; and her sister Bonnie Strom of Williamsfield.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 11th 2026 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the St. James Catholic Church (2240 E Legion Rd, Williamsfield, IL 61489). A funeral Mass was held on Friday, September 11th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Alzheimer's Association in Barb's memory.
