He was predeceased by: his father Chester Stanton; and his brother Mark Stanton. He is survived by: his mother Jan Stanton (Culberson) of Pana, IL; his brother Matt Stanton (Alma) of Park Ridge, IL; and his nieces, Alurys and Azalea.
A memorial service was held on Sunday, May 3rd 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the McCracken-Dean Funeral Home (609 Fairgrounds Rd, Pana, IL 62557). The inurnment was held on Sunday, May 3rd 2026 from 3:30 PM to 4:00 PM at the Mechanicsburg Cemetery (810b N Fork Rd, Dawson, IL 62520).
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Steve's honor may be made to the United in Faith Church, Pana and will be accepted by McCracken-Dean Funeral Home who is assisting the family.
