He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Karl Heinz and Franziska Tegtmeier (Blut); his wife Nancy; his children, Andrea Vie (Paul), Stephen Tegtmeier (Jeannine) and Paul Tegtmeier (Beth); and his grandchildren, Nicholas (Kenna), Alyssa, Kimberly, Daniel, Olivia, Joseph, Benjamin and Anna.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 22nd 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Hallowell & James Funeral Home (1025 W 55th St, Countryside, IL 60525). A funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, October 23rd 2025.
Beyond his military service, he was a respected member of the Italian American Executives of Transportation, where he built lasting friendships and made meaningful contributions to the community.
