Deidre O. Proteau Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Deidre O. Proteau of Wilmette, Illinois, who passed away on September 25, 2025 at the age of 74. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

As Deidre departs from this earthly realm, her essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though Deidre may no longer walk beside us, her spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy Deidre leaves behind.

She was predeceased by: her parent Irish; and her sister Mavourneen (Dan Currie). She is survived by: her husband Greg; her sons, Owen (Cassie) of Bardstown, KY and Conor of Palisade, CO.; and her brothers, Bill of Grosse Pointe, MI, Dennis of Grosse Pointe, MI and Patrick O'Donoghue (Lindsay) of Grosse Pointe, MI. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 3rd 2025 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at the Saint Francis Xavier Church (524 9th St, Wilmette, IL 60091). A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, October 3rd 2025 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the same location.
