As Lev departs from this earthly realm, his essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though Lev may no longer walk beside us, his spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy Lev leaves behind.
He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Anna Shapiro; his children, Alexander Shapiro (Anna) and Olya Shapiro (Patrick Mineau); his grandchildren, Maya Lawton (James), Sean Shapiro, Brianna Meltser and Ava Meltser; and his sister Clara Novakovskaya (Leonid Shapiro).
A funeral service was held on Friday, July 11th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Weinstein & Piser Funeral Home (111 Skokie Blvd, Wilmette, IL 60091).
