It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Richard A. Roman (Wilmette, Illinois), who passed away on September 20, 2025, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Harriette Roman and David Roman; his brother Melvin Roman; his child Shelly Abellera (Philip); and his sister-in-law Janice Shucart.
He is survived by: his wife Susan Roman; his children, Jody Gordon (Peter), Beth Roman (Wes) and David Roman (Heather Mekkelson); his grandchildren, Miles Gordon, Madeline Abellera, Charlotte Abellera, Zea Roman and Julius Frace; and his brother-in-law William Shucart (Laura).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Sarcoma Research at the University of California-San Francisco. Checks should be made payable to UCSF Foundation, noting: Sarcoma Research Fund (BO381 Dr. Varun Monga) in memory of Richard Roman.
