She was predeceased by: her parents, Lester Schroeder and Margaret Schroeder (Johnston); her daughter Laura; her parents-in-law, Charles and Helen Smith; and her brother-in-law David Smith.
She is survived by: her husband Daryl Smith of Wilmington; her sister Joy Jacobs (Lee) of Michigan; her nieces and nephews, Sara Jacobs-Carter (Geof), Christina DeJarlais (Mitch), Amy Jacobs, Alison Maddox (Eric), Vivienne, Grace, Lilith Jacobs-Carter, Madelyn, Jacob DeJarlais and Brianna Jacobs; her family, Dale and Sherry Wells; Aaron, Travis, Dustin, Shawna, Brandon, Andrea, Kimberly and Shalene.
Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Jane's memory to Kuzma Care Cottage, 635 South Main Street, in Wilmington, where she was a volunteer.
