Though Joan may no longer walk beside us, her legacy lives on — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of time and space.
She was predeceased by: her parents, George Schmidel and Mabel Schmidel; and her husband Don. She is survived by: her daughters, Susan Chilton (Larry) of LaGrange and Kathryn Bixby-Browne (Kieran) of Chicago, Illinois; her grandchildren, Megan Farwell (Chris), Kathryn Chilton (Adrian) and Ryan Chilton; her great grandchild Diana; and her friend Jacque Vicini.
