She was predeceased by : her parents, Donald Karl and Elsie Karl (Lidicky). She is survived by : her husband Grant McDowell of Wilmington; her children, Sarah McMahon-Dudley (Nathan) of Channahon, Jeffrey McMahon of Orlando, Genevieve McMahon of Bourbonnais and Denise McMahon of Olympia, Washington; her grandchildren, Ahnika and Rylan; her brother Russell Karl of Chicago; and her aunt Agnes Phillips (Marv) of Westchester, Illinois.. She is also survived by three step-children, four step-grandchildren, and three adoptive grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family or to the donor's choosing.
