We announce the death of Rita Delores Johnson of Wilmington, Illinois, who passed away on June 3, 2026, at the age of 99. Rita will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her parents, Francis Kelly and Anna Kelly; her husband Albert Olaf Johnson; and her children-in-law, Sharon Johnson and Larry Breen.
She is survived by: her children, Paul Johnson of Bloomington, IN, Christine Annis (James) of Braidwood and Kathleen Breen of Braidwood; her grandchildren, Eric Johnson, Jill Teasley, Leah Johnson, Robert Annis, Lori Mack (Joseph), Patrick Breen (Leila), Elizabeth Breen (Eric Mikkelsen), Paul Breen (Angela) and Thomas Breen (Kim); and her sister Margaret Abel. She is also survived by 22 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren.
Memorials in Rita's name may be made to St. Rose Catholic Church in Wilmington, Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Braidwood, or Holy Family Catholic Church in Shorewood.
