He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Burns and Lorena "Fern" Burns (Gander); his wife Phyllis Burns; and his sisters, Patricia Smykay and Connie Dorsey.
He is survived by: his daughters, Tami Berogan (Deaion) of Rockford and Amy Garnhart (Ken) of Winnebago. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
