She was predeceased by: her parents, Lawrence MacNicholas and Helen Woods MacNicholas; her husband Burton "Buzz" McLain; her daughter Kathleen; and her brother Ronald MacNicholas.
She is survived by: her children, Bruce (Dawn) of Winthrop Harbor, Brian (Beth) of Winthrop Harbor and Jeanne of Round Lake; her grandchildren, Michael (Sarah), Mallory (Syremba), Katie (Blaine), Sarah (Travis), Kristine, Patricia and Kimberly; and her caregivers, Silvia, Araceli, Fabienne, Kaylee and Henry. She is also survived by 10 great-grandchildren.
