The family announces the passing of Richard Scoles of Wood Dale, Illinois on July 26, 2026. Richard, born on October 22, 1944, was part of many shared moments and relationships throughout life. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
Richard will be remembered for the time spent with loved ones and the moments that brought joy to those around him. Friends and family will honor Richard by reflecting on shared memories and the positive influence he had in their lives. Though Richard is no longer present, the bonds he created and the experiences shared will endure. Richard’s memory will continue to be a source of comfort for all who knew him.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Gale and Helen (Janet (Johnson)). He is survived by: his children, Daniel, Jonathan (Karen) of Roselle, Illinois and Jennifer (John Mital) of Negaunee, Michigan; and his grandchildren, Caleb, Thomas, Sawyer, Faith and Matthew.
A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, October 18th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Itasca County Club (400 E Orchard St, Itasca, IL 60143).
In lieu of flowers, consider planting a tree in his honor, or giving a Memorial Gift to either The Lutheran Church of Saint Luke in Itasca, Illinois; Ascension Alexian Brothers- Hospice Residence, or The Nature Conservancy.
