With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Ermel Elizabeth Hale of Wood River, Illinois, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Ermel left this world on October 10, 2025 at the age of 86, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Orville Bettorf and Opel Bettorf (Dennis); and her siblings, Faye Bettorf, Bill, Robert "Speed" and Glen Bettorf.
She is survived by: her children, Rebecca Shahan (Michael) of Granite City, David Hale (Carrie) of Wood River, Kevin Hale (Billy Lynn) of Granite City and Billy Joe Hale of Wood River; her grandchildren, Crystal Jordan, Cathrin Madison, Michael Hale, Cody Hale and Gabrielle Dever; and her great grandchildren, Danial Hale, Bosco Jordan, Lee Madison, Frank Madison, Connor Dever, Miles Dever and Odin Hale.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 19th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Wojstrom Funeral Home & Crematory (3939 Lake Dr, Granite City, IL 62040). A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 20th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
Memorials may be made to Celebration Community Church.
