He was predeceased by: his parents, Judge Joseph Barr and Mary L. Barr (Dahm); and his siblings, Joseph Barr (Jackie), Michael, John, Theresa and Ann.

He is survived by: his sisters, Mary Elliott (Don), Patricia Fulks (Ron) and Janet Hoelscher (Stephen). He is also survived by eight nieces and nephews.
