He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Bean and Annabel Bean (Fagan); his wife Harriet Susanna "Susie" Heldenbrand; and his siblings, Lola May Harmon, Albert Glen Bean and Donald W. Bean.
He is survived by: his children, Dr. Melissa Bean (Charles Halbeck) of Creve Coeur, Dr. Janella Moy (Edward Moy) of Edwardsville, Kevin Bean (Victoria) of Springfield and Joseph Bean (Karen Munger) of St. Charles, Missouri; and his grandchildren, Elizabeth Singer, Charles Halbeck, Skyler van Rijn, Dr. Jonathan Bean, Dr. Andrew Bean, Dr. Richard Moy, Dr. Samuel Moy, William Moy, David Bean, Alison Bean and Michael Bean. He is also survived by eleven great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, and a wide circle of extended family.
Visitation will be held on Monday, June 23rd 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Pitchford Funeral Home (2555 Vaughn Rd, Wood River, IL 62095). A funeral service will be held on Monday, June 23rd 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the First Baptist Church in Roxana and may be accepted at the funeral home. Keep Joe's legacy alive by donating to a charity in need.
