He was predeceased by: his parents, John Thomas "Bum" Kochan and Wilma Kochan-Fitzgerald (Davis); his sons, Tom Kochan (Erin) and Jeff Kochan (Alison); his stepdaughter Amy Mortland Cadagin (Tim); his granddaughters, Kailey Kochan, Emily Rudicel, Averie Kochan, Aly Kochan, Mackenzie Cadagin, Shannon Cadagin and Molly Cadagin; his wife Thelma Kochan (McKey); his sister Theresa Moore; his nephew Peter Swanson; and his brother-in-law Merle McKey.
He is survived by: his sister Barbara Swanson (Robert); and his brother-in-law Jim McKey. He is also survived by cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and friends.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 13th 2026 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Holy Angels Parish Church (345 E Acton Ave, Wood River, IL 62095). A funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, October 14th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
