He is survived by: his children, Deb McLaughlin (Chuck) of Alpha, Illinois, Diane Johnson (Mitch) of Pinetop, Arizona, Dan Nelson (Jackie) of Oro Valley, Arizona and Dave Nelson of Cambridge, Illinois; his grandchildren, Kortney Holbrook (Mike), Bryce Nelson, Kindel Haverback (Brad), Annie Wood (Chad), Wade McLaughlin (Breanna), Ryan McLaughlin (Krissie), Weston Petrovich and Tavia Petrovich (Joe); and his great grandchildren, Bennett, Annika, Julian Holbrook, Olivia, Kellen, Grant, Quinn Haverback, Preston, Jameson, Finley, McKinley Wood, Oliver, Madelyn, Mac, Jude McLaughlin, Kejay and Kylan Petrovich Wilson.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be left to Camp Courageous in Monticello, Iowa or to Honor Flight.
