The family announces the passing of John F. Rickerd of Woodstock, Illinois on September 29, 2026. John, born on November 30, 1925, was part of many shared moments and relationships throughout life. He was predeceased by: his parents, Verna Rickerd (Mahaffey) and Willard Rickerd; and his wife Elaine. He is survived by: his children, Patricia Inman (Guy), Laurie Rickerd, Mark Rickerd (Cheryl), Carol Pilger and Amy Brunner (John); his grandchildren, Kristen, Matthew, Alyssa, Ben, William, Jack, Myles, Brooke and Trevor; and his great grandchildren, Brynna, Ava, Livia, Everett, Ivy and Haven.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 5th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Tuesday, October 6th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, October 6th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Resurrection Catholic Church (2918 Country Club Rd, Woodstock, IL 60098). A committal service will be held on Tuesday, October 6th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Ascension Catholic Cemetery (1920 W Buckley Rd, Libertyville, IL 60048). A burial will be held on Tuesday, October 6th 2026 at the same location.
