He was predeceased by: his grandparents, J. R., Pauline Mercer, Virgil and Mae Byrd; his sister Rebecca "Becky" L. Mercer; and his aunt Mary Ann Mercer.
He is survived by: his parents, Frank J. Mercer Sr. and Hazel Mercer (Byrd); his sons, Marces Lewis (Eva Sorrowfree) of Iowa, Travis King (Catherine McDaniel) of Pekin and Auston Mercer of Wyoming; and his grandchildren, Riley, Joshua, Grace, Jayden and Braxton. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, October 16th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Wyoming Township Cemetery (611 W Elm St, Wyoming, IL 61491).
Memorials may be made to the Shriners Children's Hospital in his honor.
