He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl Colgan and Florence Colgan (Pauli); his stepmother Margaret E. Colgan; his son Aaron Michael Colgan; and his sister Mary "Colette" Colgan.
He is survived by: his wife Adelheid "Heidi" Schefzik; his daughters, Anita Colgan (Ben Chisholm) of Alameda, CA, Tina Colgan of Greenville, SC, Marika Sharpe (Keenan) of Alpharetta, GA and Danielle Colgan of Clyde, NC; his sister Carolyn Patterson (Andy) of Springfield; and his grandchildren, Alexandra, Harper and Margaret "Maggie".
