He was predeceased by: his parents, Gilbert Brooks and Dorothy Brooks (Anderson); his sister Edith Allen; and his brothers-in-law, Ianthus Allen, Richard Allen and Joe Johnson.
He is survived by: his wife Norma Brooks of Xenia; his children, Larry Brooks (Jody) of Xenia and Trudy Hemrich (Kelly) of Noble; his grandsons, Dustin Brooks of Louisville, Kaleb Hemrich of Noble and Ethan Hemrich of Noble; his great grandchild Colton Hemrich of Noble; his brother Don Brooks (Sandra) of Dixon, Kentucky; and his siblings-in-law, Paul Ray Allen (Bonnie) of Xenia, Linda Kay Allen of Xenia, Janet Sue Johnson of Flora, Judith Meadows of Xenia and Brenda Williams of Xenia.
Memorial donations are suggested to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, and these will be accepted through the funeral home.
