It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gary Russell Vaughn of Zeigler, Illinois, who passed away on April 14, 2025, at the age of 64, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Gary Russell Vaughn to pay them a last tribute.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Vaughn and Vera Irby (Childers); his brothers, Robert Irby, Chuck Irby and Stephen Wallenmeyer; and his brothers-in-law, Tom Milcic and Bob Kase.
He is survived by: his wife Sharon Vaughn of Zeigler; his son Gary Allen Vaughn (Valerie) of Bloomington; his grandchildren, Kaleb Vaughn of Johnston City and Tessa Vaughn of Bloomington; his siblings, Leta Carr (Edward) of Mulkeytown, Myra Day of Thompsonville, Jerry Vaughn (Robyn) of Benton, David Irby of Texas, Carl Lee Irby (Linda) of Energy, Conrad Irby (Barbara) of West Frankfort and Caryn Humphry (Mike) of West Frankfort; and his sister-in-law Diane Graham. He is also survived by many special friends and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, April 18th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Vantrease-Pyle Funeral Home of Zeigler (101 Wilcox Ave, Zeigler, IL 62999). A funeral service was held on Friday, April 18th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
Memorial contributions may be made to City of Zeigler Benevolent Fund or the Zeigler Apostolic Church Youth Program.
