He was predeceased by: his parents, Jeff Monk and Sallie Mae Monk; his parents-in-law, Jean Anita and James Williams; his daughter Juadrena Dowdell; his grandson Deyonn Williams; his siblings, Josephine Riley and Luster Monk; his siblings-in-law, Michael Williams, Jeffrey Williams, Linda Williams and Sweet Monk; and his nephews, Tony Monk (Dorothy), Kerwin Williams and Darnell Quezare.
He is survived by: his wife Darilyn "Ma Ma" Monk; his children, Brian "DJ Lance" Dowdell, Donna Monk, Kelly Picket and Tawana Stiff (Patrick); his grandchildren, Dylonn Williams, Seairra Williams, Brian Dowdell, Deyonte Dowdell, Joseph Pressley, BriYahna Dowdell and Lyric Dowdell; his great grandchildren, Da'Nyla Williams and Dalyn Williams; his brother Roy (Sheila); his brother-in-law James Williams; and his nieces and nephews, Sheila Williams (Kennis), Gloria Riley, Brian Riley, Deborah Payton (Charles), Gina Monk, Rita Givens (Paul), Keith Monk (Alesia), Ronnie Moore (Annette), Tammy Picot (Frank), Jerilyn Williams, Jamel Williams, James Williams Jr. and Orlando Quezare.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 28th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church (2500 30th St, Zion, IL 60099). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 28th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
