He was predeceased by: his parents, Margaret McDowell, and Joseph G. McDowell, Sr.; his wife Barbara; his son Thomas (Tammy); his siblings, Robert (Catherine) and Geraldine Pocklington (James); and his great grandchild Sophi Christianson.
He is survived by: his daughter LeAnne Christianson (Richard); his grandchildren, Shelley Rouse (Brandon), Jeffrey Christianson (Megan), Kristi McDowell (Mike VanCleve) and Michael Christianson; and his great grandchildren, Lily Christianson, Ian Christianson, Delaney VanCleve, Aubrey VanCleve and Cooper VanCleve.
