He was predeceased by: his parents, John J. Moorhouse and Mildred E. Moorhouse (Cook); his children, Teresa and John David "J. D."; and his siblings, Anita, Katherine, Edward and Joseph.
He is survived by: his wife Melba Jean Starkey; his children, Betsy Marshall (Kevin), Mary Zeigler (Randall), Nora Hoover (Cale) and Richard Moorhouse (Amy Tjon); his grandchildren, Becca, Dylan, Renee (Kody), Chris (Sarah), Kendall (Taylor), Beth (Nico), Abby (Matt), Chloe, Tessa and Ava; his great grandchildren, Samuel, Savannah, Waylon, Claire and Lincoln; and his sisters-in-law, Jane Moorhouse and Becky Moorhouse.
Visitation was held on Friday, October 23rd 2026 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Saturday, October 24th 2026 at 9:30 AM at the Harper Funeral Homes - Albion Chapel (771 Trail Ridge Rd, Albion, IN 46701). A funeral service was held on Saturday, October 24th 2026 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, preferred memorials are to Noble County 4-H Draft Horse.
