He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles "Dutch" Krause and Joyce Krause (Hill); and his grandson Darren. He is survived by: his wife Martha Murphy; his children, Shellie Blanton, Max Krause, Brandi Krause and Michelle Johnson; and his grandchildren, Brittany, Connor, Alaina, Tyson, Cain and Devin.
Memorial donations may be given in memory of Karl to Honor Flight of Northeast Indiana.
