We are sad to announce that, on September 3, 2025, at the age of 97, Gilbert E. Shirk (Alexandria, Indiana) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Shirk and Margaret Shirk (Niland); his wife Jean Carroll Shirk; and his siblings, Infant Mary Shirk, Harriett Otake (Jack), Betty Hampton (Delmar), John "Jack" Shirk, Richard Shirk, Robert Shirk and Thomas Shirk.
He is survived by: his children, Deborah Farrell (William) of New Albany, Indiana, Kevin Shirk of Federal Way and Mark Shirk of Chesterfield; and his brother James Leonard Shirk (Marcella) of Malibu, California. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Michael J. Fox Foundation or the Alexandria-Monroe Historical Society Museum with envelopes available at the funeral home.
