He was predeceased by: his parents, Homer M. Shields and Catherine Shields (Lawson); and his brothers, Larry and Ernie. He is survived by: his wife Sally Shields (Hopkins) of Alexandria; his children, Stacey Balderrama, Kevin Shields of Alexandria, Jason Shields of Anderson and Scott Shields (Nikkole) of Anderson; his brother Roy Shields of Westfield; his grandchildren, Daniel, Jonah Felicia (Rachael), Austen (Maria), Caleb, Annastyn, Whitlee and Westen; and his great grandchild Otto. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
