He was predeceased by : his parents, Gene Pitts and June Pitts (Fish). He is survived by : his wife Velma Pitts (Allen); his children, Gina Kersey (Bob), Aaron Pitts (Kimberle) and Monica Hileman (Rick Osborne); his siblings, Louie Pitts (Sandy) and Lorraine Pitts; his grandchildren, Brandon Hileman (Heather), Nick Kersey (Tiffany), Michael Hileman, Karsten Kersey (Morgan), Delaney Hagan (Trevor), Kolten Kersey (Taku Komiyama), Drew Hileman (Makenzie) and Chandler Pitts; and his great grandchildren, Bentley Hileman, Izabella Hileman, Olivia Hileman, Kendyl Kersey, Khloe Kersey, Cooper Kersey, Palmer Hagan and Carter Hileman.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Max's honor to either Still Water Hospice, Riley Children's Hospital, or the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation.
