He was predeceased by: his parents, John J. Russell and Ina Marie Russell; his mother-in-law Marilyn Zimmerman; and his close friend Kenny Spratt. He is survived by: his wife Melanie Russell (Zimmerman); his daughter Lauryn Russell; his sister Anita Knepp (Ken); his nieces and nephews, Lindsay Washmuth, Tyler, Cassie Knepp, Landon, Sylvia Knepp, Brady Knepp, Kelsie, Eric Reel, Jared Knepp, Madelyn Knepp, Griffin Knepp, Morgan Knepp, Gabe Knepp and Lacey Knepp; his sister-in-law Tammy Zimmerman; and his close friends, John McIntire and Mark Goodwin.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 27th 2026 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory (200 W 53rd St, Anderson, IN 46013). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 27th 2026 at 6:00 PM at the same location.
Because his love for his church and students had no bounds, memorial contributions may be made to West Cross Street Alliance Church or Edgewood Elementary School.
