It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Hershel Summers of Anderson, Indiana, who passed away on June 9, 2025, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. As Hershel departs from our midst, his spirit ascends to join the cosmic dance of stars, a shimmering constellation of memories that will forever grace the night sky of the hearts of those who loved Hershel. Though Hershel may no longer walk beside us, his legacy lives on — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of time and space.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Chester Summers (Mable O'Bryant) and Hershel; his wife Joyce Summers; his son Guy Patrick Summers; and his granddaughter Katherine Rose Robinett.
He is survived by: his children, Tracy Summers (Lori), Hershel V. Summers, Kristy Spencer (Ed), Carla Griffin (William) and Sandra Summers (Stephania); and his brother Raymond O'Bryant. He is also survived by 21 grandchildren; and more than 30 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 17th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Legacy Cremation & Funeral Services (504 W 9th St, Anderson, IN 46016). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 17th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Tuesday, June 17th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM.
