He was predeceased by: his parents, Everett Scott and Della Wilson (Lycan); his siblings, Sheila Hampton, Julie Scott, Larry Scott and Phillip Scott; his brother-in-law Joseph Riley; and his nephew Brian Jones.

He is survived by: his son BJ Scott; his siblings, Danny Warrum (Millie), David Scott (Vicki), Eric Wilson (Melissa), Mike Wilson, Sharon Joslin (Wayne) and Carol Riley; his grandchildren, Jaxon and Greyson Scott; his sister-in-law Kathy Scott; his cousin Brenda Bowers; and his pet Buddy. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 16th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Brown-Butz-Diedring Chapel (515 E 53rd St, Anderson, IN 46013). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 16th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
