She was predeceased by: her husband John J. Houts; her parents, James Caudell and Wilhelmina Caudell; her siblings, James F. Caudell and Janet Alexander; her grandson John Houts, IV; and her great grandchild Jaxon Heaton.
She is survived by: her children, John J. Houts III (Debra) and Tiana Snell; her sister JoAnn Pruitt; and her grandchildren, Kassie Capossere (Jeremy), Audrey Norris (Cory), Jacob Houts (Kyle), Kailey Heaton (Mike), Briana Heaton, Taylor Heaton (Chance) and Logan Heaton (Kali). She is also survived by 16 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, September 28th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Markleville North Christian Church (32 State St, Markleville, IN 46056). A funeral service will be held on Monday, September 28th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Markleville North Christian Church Food Pantry or by doing a random act of kindness in her honor.
