She was predeceased by: her parents, Verlon Ballinger and Dorothy Ballinger (Caldwell); and her brother Gordon Ballinger. She is survived by: her husband Dean Smith; her children, Cory Smith (Beth) of Anchorage, AK and Dr. Carmen Smith of St. Louis, MO; and her sister Aimee Rissi (Pete) of Charlotte, NC..
