He was predeceased by: his parents, Herman W. Schmitt and Irene E. Schmitt (Wood); and his nephew Michael D. Schmitt. He is survived by: his daughters, Juli Crosby of Portsmouth and Tracie Schmitt of Ohio; and his brother Michael Schmitt (Karolyn) of Anderson. He is also survived by six grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
