He was predeceased by: his nephew Adam Ryan; his grandparents, Harold and Vera Creager; his parents-in-law, John and Judy Cox; his sister Jackie; and his brother-in-law Larry Williams.

He is survived by: his significant other Mary Greuter (Cox); his children, Trevor Ryan Greuter and Abby Nicole Boyer; his granddaughter Kinleigh Pearl Boyer; his siblings-in-law, James Smith (Dawn Seaton) of Greenfield, Jody Harvey (Rick) of Anderson and Carol Hollen (Jerry) of Anderson; his sister Brenda Russell (Keith) of Syracuse; his nieces and nephews, Brandon Williams (Brooke) of Warsaw, Stephen Hunt (Linda) of Lubbock, TX, Shawn Hollen (Brooke) of Anderson, Zachary Naish of Syracuse, Emily Harvey (Farrah Figel) of Anderson, Chelbie Hollen (Justin Sheets) of Anderson and Amber Hollen of Anderson; and his parents, Floyd Ben Ellert (Beverly) of Auburn and Gloria Maple of Syracuse. He is also survived by nine great-nephews; four great-nieces; three great-great nephews, and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins.
