It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Cecil Thornsberry of Andrews, Indiana, who passed away on May 2, 2025, at the age of 76, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Lawrence Thornsberry and Ora Thornsberry; his brothers, Theodore and Isador Thornsberry; his son Craig Thornsberry; and his granddaughter Jenna Ann Thornsberry.
He is survived by: his wife Geraldine Slone; his grandchildren, Jaimee Mathews, Jessica Beal (Matt), Scott Thornsberry (Melanie), Jenna Thornsberry, Jarrica Thornsberry, Trista Thornsberry, Jacob Thornsberry, Abram Thornsberry, James Burton, Justine Burton and Joslyn Roberts; and his siblings, Lawrence Thornsberry Jr. (Angie) of Saint Mary, OH, Danny Thornsberry (Ronita) of Richmond, KY, Ricky Thornsberry (Renee) of Martin, KY, Zella Hall (Bill) of Topmost, KY and Anna Marie Tackett (Alan) of Ashtabula, OH.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 6th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Wednesday, May 7th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Bethesda Freewill Baptist Church (116 S Main St, Andrews, IN 46702). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 7th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, May 7th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Riverside Cemetery (7881 River Rd, Andrews, IN 46702).
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Bethesda Freewill Baptist Church or Pathfinder Services, both in care of McElhaney Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson Street, Huntington, IN, 46750.
