He is survived by: his children, James Long Jr. (Karen) of Three Rivers, Valanicia Long of Constantine, Jeffrey Long of Peru, John Long of Corbin and Jan Long of Andrews; his stepchildren, Tisha Barrus of Huntington, Kristina Barrus of Andrews and Cameron Long of Fort Wayne; and his sister Joyce Whitacre (Ron) of Huntington. He is also survived by several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Monday, January 12th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Manchester Avenue Chapel (1241 Manchester Ave, Wabash, IN 46992). A funeral service was held on Monday, January 12th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service (1241 Manchester Ave, Wabash, IN 46992).
