She was predeceased by : her parents, Roy Shoup and Pauline Shoup (Kope); her husbands, Harold J. Smith and Russell Lawrence; and her son Roger A. Smith.

She is survived by : her son Richard A. Smith (Brenda) of Angola; and her sister Carolyn Jordan of Columbia City, Indiana.. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and 1 great great-grandchild.
