He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert C. Waite and Betty J. Waite (Sams); his son Ryan Waite; and his siblings, Thomas L. Waite, Sue Wyatt and Janie Willms.

He is survived by: his wife Patti J. Kain of Angola, Indiana; and his sisters, Judy Rook of Indianapolis and Julie Stackhouse (Bill) of Indianapolis, Indiana..
