Gene Wensel wrote a sympathy message

“I heard of Pat's passing just yesterday. He was a sincere, honest, old friend. I always respected him as a good man who hunted for all the right reasons. He was a very unique person who called the shots as he saw them. Sadly, my brother (Barry) and I were both in Indianapolis in early March. I regret not finding time for a short visit or call. Know in your heart that he lived a life well spent. I trust there will be plenty of deer and quail in heaven. The Wensel family, Hamilton, Montana”
