With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Sadie Mae Grate of Ashley, Indiana, who passed away on March 1, 2024 at the age of 94. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by : her parents, Jim Owens and Bertha Owens (Betts); her husband Herbert Grate; her son Rick Loucks; her siblings, Rozella Dembickie, Irene McPheeters, Russell Owens and Harold Owens; and the father of her children Gene Loucks.
She is survived by : her children, Cyndy Chorpenning (Mike) of Hudson, Terry Loucks (Elayne) of Angola and Jim Loucks (Linda) of Ashley; her grandchildren, Bryan Loucks (Katrina), Jayson Chorpenning, Charleen Dargis, Jasmin Loucks, Levi Loucks, Trevor Loucks, Marissa Wynne, Jennifer Prisock, Jaime Hayward and Jessica Flynn; her great grandchildren, Tyler Loucks, Kayla Maestas, Tylor Murley, Cameron Dargis (Emily), Danielle Dargis, Mason Dargis, Ellie Loucks, Anthony Loucks, Beau Loucks, Treyten Lepley, Audri Oster, Gary Hayward, Grace Hayward, Chandler Prisock, Paxton Girtman, Peyton Girtman, Noah Girtman, Myles Flynn and Isabella Flynn; her great great grandchildren, Eli Maestas, Grey Maestas, Wren Murley and Aleigha Wynne; and her pets, Oreo and Reggie.
Preferred memorials are to the Hudson United Brethren Church or the Community Humane Shelter of Steuben County.
