He was predeceased by: his mother Leah A. Stafford (Rhines); his wife Jane F. Miller; his siblings, John M. Stafford and Frances; his brother-in-law Clifford Carnahan; and his grandson Curtis Stafford.

He is survived by: his father Harold H. Stafford; his children, Tony Stafford (Casey) of Waterloo, Liz Ward (Steve) of Butler, Tom Stafford (Tammy) of Auburn, Sara Stafford (Beth Wessel) of Waterloo, Jon Stafford (Michelle) of Danville, Anne Johnson (Don) of Fort Wayne and Pete Stafford (Sara) of Crown Point; his grandchildren, Katie Thomas (Frank), Lauren Dove (Mike), Matt Ward (Kristen), Elise Graber (David), Jacob Stafford (Jordan), Tanner Johnson (Breanna), Curtis Russell (Savannah Allen), Ben Stafford (Brooke), Rachel Stafford, Leah Bassett (Patrick), Kristin Russell, Nick Stafford, Hoyt Stafford, Gabrielle Johnson, David Stafford and Jenna Stafford; his brother Roger H. Stafford (Suzanne) of Garrett; and his sister-in-law Lucille Miller of Auburn. He is also survived by 12 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, September 22nd 2026 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Feller and Clark Funeral Home (875 S Wayne St, Waterloo, IN 46793). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Wednesday, September 23rd 2026 at 11:00 AM at the St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church (1098 Co Rd 39, Waterloo, IN 46793).
