She was predeceased by: her parents, Herbert Lester and Myrtle Helen See (Habig); her husband John H. Hess; and her son Stanley Dean Hess. She is survived by: her children, Jeffery L. Hess (Cindy) of Rome City and Rene Lloyd (Russell) of Fort Wayne; her daughter-in-law Lillian Hess of Avilla; and her grandchildren, Carissa Prater (Ron), Faith Erexson (Eric), Jeremy Lloyd (Sunnette), Cherise Sevier (Paul), Brandy Young (Kris) and Ira Hess.
